Kauno „Aistės-LSU-Paradis“ namuose neatsilaikė prieš vis geresnę sportinę formą`įgyjančią Vilniaus „Kibirkšties-VIČI“ komandą ir pralaimėjo jai 52:68 (20:10, 8:16, 7:17, 17:25). Tai buvo trečioji šalies čempionių pergalė LMKL čempionate, o studentės patyrė pirmąją nesėkmę po dviejų pergalių.Vilniaus krepšininkės šįkart pateisino „metikių komandos“ vardą, iš trijų taškų zonos atakavusios taikliau nei iš dviejų (45 ir 34 proc.).

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Aistes-LSU (2-1) in Kaunas on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Kibirkstis-VICI (3-0) 68-52. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 16 points. Kibirkstis-VICI dominated on the defensive end, holding Aistes-LSU to just 7 points in third quarter. Kibirkstis-VICI forced 19 Aistes-LSU turnovers.

It was a good game for international guard Greta Sniokaite who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Vita Kuktiene contributed with 17 points for the winners. Kibirkstis-VICI’s coach Jurgita Streimikyte used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

International power forward Laura Svaryte answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jolanta Marmiene added 22 points and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) in the effort for Aistes-LSU.

Kibirkstis-VICI is looking forward to face Suduva in Marijampole in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aistes-LSU’s supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kaunas to the arena H-Sirenos.
